LCAMP

Full name of the project: LEARNER-CENTRIC ADVANCED MANUFACTURING PLATFORM
Duration: 15 June 2022 to 14 June 2026

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The LCAMP project is one of 13 projects selected by the European Commission for funding in 2021 for the development of excellence in vocational education and training.

It aims to support and enable regional Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) to become more resilient, more innovative and better equipped to train, up-skill and re-skill young and adult learners to successfully manage the digital and green transitions.

Within LCAMP you will find everything from the development of skills and competences to their delivery; as well as the design of learning pathways, microcredentals, active methodologies, service articulation and innovation for SMEs.

The LCAMP consortium consists of 20 full partners from 10 countries. 9 of them are training organisations, 7 are industrial companies and 4 are professional and industrial associations. The consortium is also supported by 60 associate partners.

WHAT DO VET COLLEGES GAIN?

Industry 5.0 requires vocational education and training to develop ‘learning-centred approaches’ to the holistic skills of people who design, manage, control or operate technologies. The LCAMP aims to support and empower regional Advanced Manufacturing Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) to become more resilient, innovative and better equipped to train, up-skill and re-skill young and adult students to successfully manage digital and green transitions. LCAMP aims to support and enable regional centres of vocational excellence in advanced manufacturing to become more resilient, innovative and better equipped to train, up-skill and re-skill young and adult students to successfully manage digital and green transitions. To this end, the LCAMP project will develop activities in three main areas:

Teaching and learning: establishing skills frameworks and curricula for advanced manufacturing (AM); launching or revising AM programmes, including micro-demonstrations; creating or strengthening learning factories with dedicated AM laboratories, jointly run by VET and industry.
Collaboration and partnerships: setting up a Skills and Jobs Observatory for advanced manufacturing; promoting ideas for industry/PIU/regional collaboration through open innovation communities and advising SMEs on integrating SME/PIU linkages.
Governance and funding: creating a one-stop portal for all our services; providing stakeholders with a business case for the long-term continuation of services while increasing collaboration.
