VET to VET – Capacity building in Albania

Project name: VET to VET – Capacity building in Albania (V2V-AL)
Duration: from March 14 2023 until February 14 2025
Budget:

AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

The aim of the V2V-AL project is to increase the attractiveness and performance of VET through internationalisation and mobility, by making it more responsive to labour market needs and by developing skills, both in initial vocational education and in vocational education and training.

Despite the key role that VET plays in economic transition, it remains small in Albania. The V2V-AL project will develop tailored and effective internationalisation strategies and modernise the offer of VET institutions through capacity building focused on twinning between Albanian VET providers and providers of VET programmes.

The core of the project, capacity building, will be achieved through a critical mass of activities – course catalogues, job shadowing, staff training, coaching, exchange of good practices, toolkits. The focus will be on key areas such as internationalisation, project planning and management, dual/work-based learning (WBL) and guidance. These activities will feed into the managerial, organisational and didactic activities of VET providers, benefiting staff, students and stakeholders.

Internationalisation and mobility are the main drivers for increasing the attractiveness and success of VET, and V2V-AL will therefore pilot short and long term mobility for students and graduates. V2V-AL will also support achievements through business engagement, networking at different levels, advisory boards and workshops with stakeholders and policy makers, policy recommendations and international conferences.

The V2V-AL project will promote and improve the internationalisation of VET, dual system/WBL, skills development and employability and contribute to more stable jobs.
