ABOUT THE PROJECT

The AutoCoVE 2.0 project addresses a key challenge of modern vocational education and training (VET) in the automotive sector – the insufficient adaptation to rapid technological changes and labor market demands. Its main objective is to modernize learning content for working with electric, hybrid, and hydrogen vehicles, thereby contributing to the preservation of more than one million jobs in Europe and supporting the planned transition to zero-emission mobility by 2035.

Within the project, 19 innovative modules for vocational and technical training will be developed, along with an additional 10 modules intended for teachers and industry professionals. The modules will cover three levels of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF 4, 5, and 6) and will address both technical and business aspects – ranging from occupational safety and equipment use to testing methods and digital competencies on modern learning platforms.

The project also foresees the implementation of a skills gap analysis in seven European countries and the organization of five three-day collaborative workshops, bringing together teachers, researchers, and industry representatives from eight countries.

The project involves 16 partners from various European countries, combining strong audiovisual, pedagogical, and technical competencies. Among them is the Finnish partner Omnia, which is developing a learning module in the field of sales and spare parts, as well as the company Electude, a specialist in digital education in the automotive industry, which provides support for the digital platform.

The project also includes pilot activities, including the establishment of hosting practices. Mobilities will take place both in schools and companies and will last from 2 to 18 weeks, involving 70–80 students and 340 members of professional staff. Special emphasis will be placed on the inclusion of vulnerable groups – at least one third of participants will come from less privileged backgrounds.

Project results will provide access to interactive, gamified learning content supported by an advanced digital platform. The project has already received recommendations for inclusion in national vocational education policies aligned with European strategic documents such as the Osnabrück Declaration, the Pact for Skills, and the European Green Deal.

Through close cooperation between industry and educational institutions, the project makes a significant contribution to the green transition of mobility and promotes equitable, inclusive, and high-quality education at the European level.
