In 2026, Slovenia celebrates 30 years of higher vocational education.

Over the past three decades, the sector has developed into an important part of Slovenia’s tertiary education system, combining professional knowledge, work-based learning and close cooperation with employers. Today, 49 higher vocational colleges (HVC) equip students with relevant competences for successful careers while responding to the changing needs of the labour market.

The Association of Higher Vocational Colleges of Slovenia (Association HVC) represents the shared interests of HVC and supports quality development, internationalisation, digitalisation, career guidance, and cooperation with industry and international partners.

One of the new initiatives introduced in this anniversary year is our international newsletter, created to share key activities, achievements and developments in Slovenian higher vocational education with our international partners, while further strengthening cooperation and the exchange of good practices. Subscribe to our newsletter and stay connected with the latest developments, opportunities and activities in Slovenian higher vocational education.
