VET to VET – Capacity building in Albania
Full name: VET to VET – Capacity building in Albania (V2V-AL)
Duration: from 14.3. 2023 to 14.2. 2025
PROJECT PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the V2V-AL project is to increase the attractiveness and effectiveness of vocational education and training (VET) through internationalization and mobility, by improving responsiveness to labor market needs and developing skills, both in initial vocational education and in higher vocational education and training.
Despite the key role that VET plays in economic transition, its impact in Albania remains limited. The V2V-AL project will develop tailored and effective internationalization strategies and update the offerings of vocational institutions by strengthening capacities, focusing on twinning between Albanian providers and higher vocational education program implementers.
The core of the project, capacity building, will be achieved through a critical set of activities – course catalogs, job monitoring, staff training, coaching, exchange of good practices, and toolkits. The focus will be on key areas such as internationalization, project planning and management, the dual system/work-based learning (WBL), and guidance. These activities will be integrated into the leadership, organizational, and didactic operations of VET providers, benefiting staff, students, and stakeholders.
Internationalization and mobility are the main driving forces for increasing the attractiveness and effectiveness of vocational and professional education and training. Therefore, V2V-AL will implement pilot short-term and long-term mobility programs for students and graduates. V2V-AL will also support outcomes through business engagement, networking at various levels, advisory boards and workshops with stakeholders and policymakers, policy recommendations, and international conferences.
The V2V-AL project will promote and enhance internationalization of VET, the dual system/WBL, skills development, and employability, contributing to more stable employment opportunities.
The Association of Slovene Higher Vocational Colleges participates in the project as an external evaluator.
